Potty Training Day 1

Today was the official Day 1. Don't worry I won't update you everyday...as with past experience I'm sure I may have to take a break and start fresh again...I wasn't sure I was going to do it, until I realized that she's probably ready if I put forth the effort. She did really great on Monday afternoon, totally went in the potty all evening. Today, well she held it in a lot. We sat on the potty about a bajillion times.

True Story:

So, today I was home ALL day with LJ and Memm. I was on top of LIFE. I was a good little mum. Talked to the kids, folded laundry all day, took Memm to the potty the bajillion times we spoke of. LJ went on a visit with his Grandpa so I decided to run a few quick errands and left Hubbs with Memm. Hubbs was downstairs with STRICT instructions to ask Memm if she needed to potty and to TAKE her every once in a while.

I get home about 1.5 hours later to Memm walking up the stairs from the basement. She says to me:

"Mom, I poot in my calcinha." (Mom, I pooed in my panties.)

"Memm, why didn't you tell Daddy that you needed to poop on the potty?"

"Daddy watching TV."

Rolling on the floor laughing my butt off. You should have seen the look of guilt on Hubb's face. Needless to say he had to change the Pull Up.

Bringing me to my final thought for the evening. Pull Ups oddly enough did work for Jobby. I'm hoping they will for Memm too. Right before bed she tells me, "These are not diapers, they are panties." We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Potty Training. Gah.

I am laughing so hard. Why is it that they leave the dads alone but regardless of what we are trying to do (and is it ever really just watching a show we want to), they interrupt us every two seconds. So great. I hope the Pull Ups do the trick.

Well, we are in the middle of Potty training too-I guess. Elise won't wear pull ups period. She is very attached to her diapers . . . all I can do is keep trying right. The joys of parenthood . . . good luck.

P.S. I tried to reply to your email this morning, but it failed twice. Is your yahoo email account being funky?

That is the BEST picture of Miss Emm! She is too much. Gotta love dads. That is why Heavenly Father created Mothers. Heaven only knows what would happen if there wern't Mothers around. Ok if there weren't some mothers around. =) Thanks for the Laugh. Needed it!

Oh how funny. I can see that happening here. She seems like such a good talker. Robbie's come a long way but he's not quite to that level. He's still at the age where he denies what he's doing (even though it's written all over his face) but then he brings me a diaper when he is done. We may be a while!

Luana hated the Pull Ups, she was saying that it wasn't calcinha, so could lie to her! And Calcinhas are washable and cheap Kim.

Aren't daddy's awesome! These are the stories we have to laugh at and write down so we can always tease them about it!

This reminds me of what I get to look forward to... Ugh.

Well, if he was watching Lost I can totally understand!! ;)
So cute, I love that she is so sweet and caring. She knew how much her daddy was enjoying his tv show... so sweet!!

Good Luck! Grace was a 6 month adventure and I swear I am waiting until Maggie is 5 to do that again. But now she is potty trained and all it means is every time my cart is full of food at the grocery store and I am 12 aisles away from the bathroom those five blessed words come out "I have to go potty!" Such great timing. Now we are working on "holding it." It is going about as good as the initial potty training did.
