TMJ Syndrome.

So, my friends are over here tonight...we are crafting.

They are mocking me.

I woke up Friday unable to chew. The left side of my Temporomandibular Joint was not working...like at all. It was the most painful thing to do just to get any food down. Ug.

So, since Friday I have been wearing my mouthguard.

"It sounds like I have finally hit puberty!" Thanks mrs. r. You are a bumm.

I have THE worst lisp in the world. So if you see me around, and I have the guard in, please know that is why I am not looking you in the eye. I can't even take myself seriously.

Dentist, me...tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Do you have to wear the guard in the daytime? I clench and have a tight jaw. I grind at night and got a night guard for night time. But you poor thing! It's buggy, huh? I'm sure you're darling!!!

OK, I have a bad jaw too and once my husband accidently hit me in the jaw during (don't ask). And thankfully I had a dentist appt the very next day, because I couldnt move my mouth. So the hygenist got me to really WARM, WET washcothes in ziplock baggies and had me hold them to my jaw and eventually my jaw loosened up and felt so much better. It also helped that I got a nice little massage from the hygenist. But hope it feels better!

Ok, I just read what I wrote and it looks bad, and it wasnt what it seems like, he was tickling me, because I am the most tickelish in the world, well now my son is, so the tickling for me has eased up since he was born.

Kim!! I use to have huge problems with my jaw. I could barely eat anything. I had my jaw lock shut several times, had to go to therapists and everything. My dentist gave me a mouth guard and it did nothing for me...

Anyway... several hundreds of dollars later I was told to try accupuncture. I was desparate, so I tried it and am cured! Seriously! The first time I walked out of there and was amazed that I could open and close my mouth without any popping. The second time, it was even better. I think I went to him two or three times. So worth it!!

The appts are $30 a pop, but heck... look at the money i could have saved. This was four years ago and I am still going strong. No problemos whatsoever!

If you want more info, let me know!!!!!

Lady, I am laughing hysterically, I shouldn't but when I talk to you, I can't really take you seriously either. Sorry, it's true. :-) But I do feel bad that your jaw is jacked.

I feel for you. I also have TMJ Syndrome. I had to go through months of physical therapy because it kept locking. It did help but then I stopped the daily exercises I was suppose to do and basically I am an the verge of locking again.
I hope the dentist can help. I wear a mouth guard at night to help prevent problems. No fun! Hang in there. It is no wonder your TMJ is acting up...you have been through alot!
Sending Hugs!
