Buyer Beware

So, uhm, this post has NOTHING to do with buying, but has everything to do with the other people at the grocery store.

The mid-twenty something (or younger I would assume by their tactlessness) men who frequent the grocery stores, and or work there during the times this pregnant woman must drag her kids to the store.

This post is for you gentlemen.
I use the term LOOSELY...extremely loose.

About two months ago, Hubbs was at work and we desperately needed groceries. So, I did the unimaginable but the much needed grocery shopping trip with the two kids. Oi. We did fine until checkout when the grocery store I chose takes the kids behind the checker...you know cuz that is how it works and it is the only way to get the cart through the line. Well, Memms decides she is going to have a freak out (not uncommon...she is a drama queen at times.)

Well, the idiotic dood who is bagging my groceries just can't handle her. He can't keep his big mouth shut for some reason and begins cursing and using the "Lord's" name in vain in reference to my child. Now, I can handle most things, but this was OUT OF LINE. Wanting desperately myself to get the H out of the store, I quickly paid and went to my car, all that night wishing I had said something to him, or complained to his manager, it was just not OKAY...this is customer SERVICE people, not, "Make this customer never come back service."

So, I let that one slide...until yesterday.

We needed milk. It was only 95 degrees outside, but alas we needed milk, and again Hubbs was at work, so I had to drag two tired, hot kids to the store, and as I situate them into the "Car Kart" I realize that there is only ONE steering wheel. The other had been broken off. SO, we give Memms the first go because afterall "Ladies First".

Then we get to the milk and I ask her to switch so that J-Man can have a turn.
Well, she does but then proceeds to FREAK out right in the dairy isle of Smiths.

Like, grade-A freak out.
(grade-a...I am SO FUNNY.)

Well joy of joys, who do I see out of my peripherals but two young men, who in their stupidity didn't comtemplate that this pregnant woman with TWO...YES TWO children ALREADY...might not need their input begin to say,

"Shut! UP!" and "Geez that kid is SO loud, shut her up."

Me? "OH NO HE DIDN'T!"

He got the...and I am sorry for all of you who don't like profanity...but the "man" er uh boy got the,

"Shut the H up you F'in Bast_ _ _ _!"

As in I said the entire thing.

Now...I don't condone this behavior.
I am nine months pregnant and I can't handle one more thing right now.

So I warn you, you man who has never had children, who has no clue that even though your children are driving YOU crazy and everyone else around them, that BESIDES that,
you love them regardless...
and will protect them beyond anything...

TO YOU I SPEAK:

BEWARE...because next time I am nine months pregnant, with my two kids, at the store, in 100 degree weather, it will be more than a few profanities...
it will be your head covered in 1% milk and Swiss cheese...
and I may be arrested, but it will be SO worth it.

You've been warned.

ha ha ok this reminds me of when I was nine months pregnant and had a 16 month old and had to take care of my grandma. while driving down a long highway and going 5 over the speed limit this stupid truck was tailing me like no other. I screeched to a hault on that highway, whipped open the door, stomped my huge self over to his car window and scared the crap out of him.

because you DO NOT MESS WITH A NINE MORE PREGNANT WOMAN IN THE SUMMER

I had a similar experience yesterday.

Your language is a lot nicer than mine would have been.

I probably would have shoved the milk carton up his nose.

hmm... I guess now is the time I shut up... I was just at wal-mart and was SO ANNOYED with 2 children having a screaming contest in their mother's shopping cart... I tried really hard to ignore them, until another child a few rows over decided to join in on the fun, thus creating surround-sound screaming... however, I did not SAY anything... I was just really annoyed... (I would have had more compassion on the poor lady if she were prego, but she was just trashy, which is no excuse). I don't think I would EVER say anything... I *THINK* it sometimes, but I don't SAY it... (it just makes me grateful for being single :) hehe...)

Anyway, I'm sorry for the jerks, and I'm proud of you for standing up to them! Good job!!

Wow you impress me. Toby can probably give you some pointers on grocery store people. He's threatened bodily harm to people who would try to touch Robbie when he turned his back to pick something up. I would love to have been there with you!

I completely support your actions 100%!!!! Don't mess with a women when her vision blurs and everything on her mind is let loose!!! I am rolling right now!! I don't understand people. I remember being in the store with these two punks swearing like sailors behind Aly and I; I turned around and said, um excuse me do you mind! I was impressed with myself as I am typically not that bold in public for fear of being knocked out but when it comes to your children nothing goes over well. YOU GO GIRLL!!!!

Kim - I am NOT 9 months pregnant and I let the pony lady have it at This is the place state park when she made Roman cry on Friday. Seriously, who does she think she is. . .it's people like those that make it hard to keep it together as a parent. You can say whatever you want about me, but don't question my parenting skills and don't hurt my child (physically, emotionally, I don't care, leave him alone!!!)!!! I could tell story after story but you know them all I am sure (times 2).

Oh my heck - I am sitting here laughing my Grade-A A off! I totally relate to this story - TOTALLY. Because Lily has those same freak-outs in the store and although I have never experienced any of those teenage "men" saying anything directly to me, I totally know the type you are talking about. I would have lost all self-control as well. No doubt -you know me, I probably wouldn't have swore, but probably would have gone straight to the slamming the 1% in his face. You go girl. I am still laughing - you should do an exercise your abs program just by reading your stories. Good times. I can't believe how much I relate to this story.

Oh my FUNNY!

Yesterday my drama-queen toddler threw a fit at the check-out stand because she wanted some cookies. Thankfully, most of the people around us (other moms) just laughed at her wails and tear-stained cheeks.

People are SOO stupid and say such stupid things! When some stupid guy said something to me when I was little I didn't say anything back because I was soo taken off guard! I kicked myself for weeks for not replying and let his comments get to me. It still bugs me!

You know you are always welcome to drop those gorgeous kids off at my house so you can do your shopping in peace. Off the subject but I was just looking at pictures of Ayla and Memms today- SO FUN! They were such cute little twin friends!
