In Peace

I will try to ignore the way this 'funeral' came about.

I won't tell you it is because this tiny bird was sitting across the street on the porch of the vacant home probably since Millz was born.
I will try to not get into the fact that every day my children have gone over to look at the dead bird that fell out of the nest.
I will even refrain from telling you that yesterday my kids ripped off one of the dead bird's wings with their
bare hands.

I won't tell you how I freaked out when Memms brought said wing to me, or how I began ranting that we need to respect life, la la la la la.

After I washed hands and gave baths, I reset myself and we taught about respect for living things, and so...

A funeral in pictures:

We had a bird funeral when I was a kid too! Butno scriptures on the box. That's awesome.

LOVE IT! What a wonderful lesson for the kids! LOVE that you put a scripture on the box. A+ for teaching gospel principles in everyday life moments! Everyone needs a mom like you. Everyone needs a mom that takes such great pictures! You rock!

You are seriously THE best mom ever.

I would probably have just freaked about the germs and told Lys not to touch dead birds.

Again, best mom ever goes to Kimmie.

Love you.

Okay, first of all, that picture of J-man with his tie on over his pj's? Priceless.

Second of all, if I could look as gorgeous as Memms when I'm just out of the bath, I would be one happy girl!

And lastly, you are like THE best mom EVER! What a great learning opportunity for your kids and now for me on how to be a better parent. Thanks once again!

LOVE how you handled this! You are seriously a GREAT Mommy!

Can I say, this kind of thing happened with us a month ago, only L actually killed the bird. She was trying to catch it and hold it and couldn't catch it so she thwacked it with a hose. I was MORTIFIED! I cried. Jess took care of the funeral arrangements while I sat down and said a prayer with L. I should have called you and asked for some parenting advice on how to handle it! Parenting is not easy sometimes.

I love stopping by here often just to oogle over Millz. She truly is a masterpiece! Beautiful!

I think that is a rite of passage as a child... I also remember holding a bird funeral in my back yard as a child... great way to teach kids about the circle of life.

You crack me up!! I love your kids in their p.j.'s! Awesome box! A lot better than our checkbook box...for our pet Tweety. The funny thing is a few years after Tweety died, I started to dig up Tweety to show my friend. Luckily, my brother caught me and stopped me in time. Oh, Memories!

The tie with the jammies...be still my heart. So dang cute.

Your newest addition is to die for. I can only imagine how hard it is to get anything done. I am sure you just stare at her all day. Congrats!
