Please note: I did not take this photo, I googled Starburst, and this is what I found. I much prefer Original Fruit myself ;)
So I thought I would share with you what I did today. I ate a Starburst. In fact, I ate about eight of them. Why is this significant? It has been 6.75 years since I last ate a Starburst Fruit Chew. Why? Cause the last time I did, I gorged myself and made myself sick. I know you all have a food you associate with that feeling. Well, I have to say, they were just as good as I remembered. I am happy to report I am feeling no ill effects, but will be careful not to over do it since I would like to enjoy another in the near future.
Moving on, I polished my nails today (on my hands). It has been over 3 years. Yes, I said THREE years since I have polished the nails on my hands. Why? Plain and simple I was bored. I came across some polish while rummaging through a drawer. It was clear, so I thought, "What the heck?" And you know what? Holy self esteem, all day I have been staring at them, thinking how pretty they look all shapely and taken care of. I think I will keep it up, at least for a while.
Why is this significant you ask? Well, pitifully enough, I used to be a Nail Technician. People used to PAY me to make their nails look good, and just like a personal trainer...you only go to one who looks good right? Right. Anyway, I have been neglectful. Of my nails and my blog. So, there you go.
Have a wonderful weekend. Ours is going to be full now...(thanks bishop). But that is okay. I am really looking forward to tomorrow night, we are going out with some friends, and I can't tell you the last time we went out...alone, sans children. I might even lug my camera along for the ride.
Hope all is well.

I am so excited I am going to be the first person to leave a comment on your blog!! I think that's a first!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you! That is such a great idea to raise your self esteem. I think you have encouraged me to paint my nails now. . .you smart nail tech.
If it's any consolation I can't remember the last time I had a facial. . .and to think I am licensed in two states as an Esthetician!! hmmmmmm
Sounds like a good day, especially when you can polish your nails and reunite with Starburst.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything else is going well, and enjoy your weekend-it sounds like fun.
Kim I'm so curious what your calling is! Sounds life will get even more busy for you eh !Jsut think now you'll have more to write about eh! You are awesome-- I hope you have a great starburst beautiful nails induced weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI know my nails looked good while I was pushing a kid out THANKS TO YOU!
ReplyDeleteI had an experience similar to your starburst story, but mine is with a Almond Joy that was rotten! I love them but still can't seem to be able to eat one some 4 years later.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love that you did your nails, I have been thinking of doing mine, because for some odd reason my nails have been growing really fast lately or I just havent been picking at them as much and they are looking long.
And hope you had fun on your night out!!
painted nails?!? Impressive! Mine haven't been painted for awhile either. :(
ReplyDeleteYes indeed...my story is of hot tamales and nobody alive wants to hear it...trust me!
ReplyDeleteooh, I have a bad story too, regarding a LOT of swedish fish, sea-sickness and a rocky boat in the middle of nowhere. I was unable to eat for 5 days... the very thought of swedish fish make me turn green.
ReplyDeleteUnlike your beloved starburst, there will be no happy reunification.
i've been craving starburst since i saw that picture days ago.
ReplyDeletehope our weekend went well...
ooo...and can i add getting my nails done to the list of things i want you to do for me if i ever come to utah?
Kim, you are so creative! I love your Starburst photo! You should just take credit for it. J/K. If anyone deserves time for herself, it's YOU!!! You should be getting your nails done by someone else. You do so much for others. You're awesome.
ReplyDeleteskittles. I had too many skittles this one time and haven't had them since. I loved skittles and at a YW camp we played a game and I can't remember the game exactly but you had to put skittles in your mouth and hold them there if you got a question wrong or something. Anywho, too many skittles. That was when I was 16 and almost 10 years later...still no skittles for me.
